1. Upcoming Designers Style the Olympic Opening Ceremony

The Opening Ceremony of London 2012 Olympic games went off in STYLE on Friday Night! It brought together representatives from all of London’s creative industries including fashion. Upcoming brands of East London, Christopher Shannon, Michael Van Der Ham and Nasir Mazhar dressed 350 of the 1,200 entertainers who danced away to the compilation of famous British hits.

Surrirat Larlab, creative director of the Opening Ceremony who worked in tandem with Danny Boyle explains “We wanted to choose young designers who work and live in the East End for the opening ceremony and who create innovative and cutting edge new ideas. It has been an incredible experience working with this fresh new talent, all of whom have dedicated themselves heart and soul to this project.”

  2. Charity Shop Fashion!

Shopping for second-hand clothes at charity shops like Oxfam is more popular than ever, but why? We had a look about on Pinterest to see whether we could dig up some hidden gems…

    • We’re now OPEN! - We’ve opened up Friendtrend.com for the very first-time. The website is now completely open for anyone and everyone to use! Sign-up now, it’s free to join and start sharing your outfits!
    • Champion your Brands! - So we were thinking… everyone likes to wear a variety of brands don’t they? With all these brands being displayed on your profile things could get pretty messy. Now you have the ability to edit your brand-list and select which brands you would like visitors to see! Start championing your favourite brands!
    • More Exclusive Offers! – Everyone loves shopping online right? Why search the high-street when members of Friendtrend automatically get access to our Offers page which we frequently update with the latest online sales and promotional codes, simple! The Featured Offers at the top of the page are hand picked by our team, you won’t find these offers anywhere else. Share what you wear and save some pennies, how good is that?
    • Connect with Facebook! – This is giant, huge, massive and humongous (err)! Users are now able to connect to Friendtrend with Facebook. Share every outfit with your Facebook buddies using the Friendtrend timeline app, import your most stylish pictures directly from your FB albums and invite your friends to join in the fun. All this can be yours, at a click of a button.

Almost there! In addition to all the lovely updates we’ve also been busy implementing a brand (he-he) new notification system with plenty of flashy design-changes and bug fixes throughout the site. If you do happen to come across any bugs or problems with Friendtrend we’d like to hear from you, either leave us some Feedback (the big white button on the left, after you sign in) alternatively you can e-mail the dev-team directly- support [at] Friendtrend [dot] com.

And finally, we’d just like to say a BIG THANKYOU to everyone who took part in the first 6 weeks of closed testing. Without you (the fearless guinea-pigs army) development of Friendtrend would be rather dull and boring.

Hope to see your outfits on Friendtrend very soon and remember…

    Fashion should be for everyone!
